Because of performance issues with MA 5.0.4, McAfee recommends MA 5.0.5. Before you upgrade to a Windows 10 Version 1703 (Creators Update) environment, McAfee Agent (MA) 5.0.3 minimum and MACC 8.x must be installed. MACC must be upgraded to version 7.x before you perform the upgrade to Windows 10. 
MACC 7.x is the minimum supported version to run in a Windows 10 Version 1607 (Anniversary Update) environment. If you upgrade the operating system to Windows 10 before you upgrade MACC to 7.x or later, it prevents the Windows 10 driver from loading at startup. After the upgrade completes, place the system back in Enabled mode. Before upgrading the operating system, place the system in Update mode. Resolidification of a system with MACC installed must be performed after any version upgrade of the Windows operating system. Resolidification must be performed after the upgrade has been completed. 
Resolidification of a system must be performed after you upgrade any MACC version to MACC 8.2.1 Update 3 or MACC 8.0.2 Update 1 and later. It needs to be Enabled, and set to 1, 2, or 3. The "Allow Telemrtry" setting is under Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Data Collection and Preview Builds. The Windows Update policy doesn't tell you where to allow telemetry. You have to allow Windows 10 to phone home if you want to block Feature Updates! There might be some way of blocking the effects of turning on telemetry if you are a secure site, but that's out of the scope of this article. Note that Microsoft is serious about forcing you to use telemetry: The settings in the screenshot are the most assertive ones you can pick for delaying 1703 (or a later feature update) as long as possible. Choose "Select when Feature Updates are received", then "Edit policy setting". To block those specifically, you need to edit the Group Policy setting Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Update > Defer Windows Updates. 1703 Creators Edition and 1709 Creators Edition Update count as a "Feature Update".
